Ek vereer 'n langdurige oorlewende wat sedert die 1980's met MIV geleef het. Alhoewel die afgelope paar jaar 'n gesukkel was weens verskillende mediese kwale, het hulle altyd 'n glimlag op hul gesig en 'n warm drukkie. Dit verbaas my hoe iemand wat baie redes het om hulself jammer te kry, altyd besorg is oor hoe ek vaar. Ek stel my gereeld voor watter lekkerder wêreld dit sou wees as meer mense so was. - Anoniem

Ek vereer my ouers wat ongelukkig nie die epidemie oorleef het nie. Ek het my ma, pa en stiefpa verloor. Ek wil veral my moeder, Debbie Kellner, eer wat 17 jaar oorleef het op 'n tyd toe daar vir haar gesê is dat daar geen hoop is nie. Sy het op een of ander manier oorleef ondanks armoede tussen generasies, 'n leergestremdheid wat haar ongeletterd gelaat het en chroniese huishoudelike geweld. Ek het geleer hoe om van haar te oorleef. Ek is MIV, maar is in die 80's gebore deur positiewe ouers, en VIGS was nog altyd belangrik vir my identiteit en my ervaring.
